Human sexuality, gender roles, and sexual behavior are an integral part of health care, social sciences, biological sciences, and culture. Broadening human sexuality education for a wider professional audience meets this unique, non-clinical need and prepares you to bring applied solutions to real world sexual health crises. The certificate consists of four, 3-credit courses.
The course has a theory component and a clinical practicum. The theory modules provide nurses with evidence based information on a broad range of sexual and reproductive health topics. Nurses will explore the physiological, psychosocial and environmental aspects of sexual and reproductive health using current research findings, clinical guidelines and the knowledge and experience of experts in the field.
The Online Graduate Certificate in Sexual Health is designed for current and aspiring professionals across health and education disciplines and will be of interest to those working in health, education, government and not-for-profit sectors. The Graduate Certificate is suitable for any graduate with an interest in health especially those working clinically or those in the education or public health sectors. It is broad based and covers some of the epidemiology, the social determinants of sexual health as well as health promotion and prevention aspects. The subjects draw on national and international developments in the prevention, management and public health control of sexually transmissible infections and HIV.
