The following are excerpts from our interview, which speak to her experience working in Germany, where prostitution is legal.

You moved from San Francisco to Los Angeles, away from the strip clubs where it was too easy to waltz in at any hour you wanted and work until 3 a. You gave away three more garbage bags full of sleazy costumes over the next 10 years to baby strippers.
You can't strip forever. Even in Florida. And that stigma creates all kinds of interesting issues when you start applying for new, non-naked work.
